DINNER OF ABRAHAMIC TRADITIONS

February 2, 2004, Mount Prospect

Speakers representing Judaism, Christianity, and Islam emphasized the Prophet Abraham’s attributes that could bring us together. Judaism, Christianity, and Islam all trace back their origin to the Prophet Abraham. Moses and Jesus are descendants of Isaac, the younger son of Abraham, while Mohammed is a descendant of Ishmael, the older son, peace be upon them all. Consequently, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam share much in common. Concentrating on these commonalities instead of differences, we can work together for a peaceful coexistence. Let’s keep on sharing the faith of Prophet Abraham.

THE FIRST ANNUAL INTERFAITH DIALOGUE DINNER
November 13, 2003, “Swissotel Chicago”

Ramadan is a holy month when the relationship with God and relationships within the community are strengthened by fasting and breaking the fast. To reinforce the friendship, and dialog between diverse communities, we gathered in an interfaith dinner during Ramadan with people from all walks of life of diverse communities and faith groups to emphasize on the values such as mutual understanding, deep respect, mutual love, peace, sincerity, and honesty. It was such a dinner where people from different traditions expressed their thoughts and offered their friendships.
